What Are The Benefits Of Having A Personal Trainer?

Most people say having a personal trainer is a luxury, I definitely agree. A luxury to befriend someone who has your personal needs first. A luxury to share your close and personal fitness insecurities. A luxury to be able to count on someone who will work hard to get you to achieve your goals. Having a personal trainer is a luxury but for reasons most people do not realise.

There are personal trainers to suit every personality and once you have found them it will be a match made in heaven. A Pilates personal trainers goal is to help their clients to strengthen the core, improve flexibility and mobility but most importantly achieve their goals effectively without injury.

Working as a Pilates personal trainer means really understanding the female body and how it works. Working with ladies at some of their most vulnerable times: after just giving birth, going through the menopause, even turning a certain age can effect a ladies outlook on their fitness and lifestyle. Taking all of these into consideration having a very confident and understanding trainer is the key to success.

Just a little bit about my clients and I. We have a very strong relation and trust; if they need me I am there. Maybe it’s to tell them they are amazing when they are having an off day or maybe it’s to tell them they need to up their energy during a session. We laugh together we sometimes cry together but most importantly we work together to achieve goals.

Motivation is often difficult to maintain when you exercise on your own. Regular sessions with a personal trainer creates accountability, which is a real motivator to not let down yourself or them. But there's also something to be said for feeding that part of our brain that craves praise. Hearing a trainer celebrate your consistency, progress, or even proper technique can be a real boost when you feel like throwing in the towel.

Exercise improves your mental health and leaves your mind feeling a lot clearer and less stressed. Let's be honest most of the time when you are with a trainer you will be telling them about your week how you feel what’s wrong with your life at the moment. That is normal!!! It is like having an unofficial therapist.

Goal Achievement and Accountability

Helping you define your individual fitness goals and create a plan on how to get there taking into account your current fitness levels and needs is a priority. It could be the most simple of goals: reduce back pain, feel more confident in my own skin, where my favourite dress again. Each individual goal will push both trainer and client to succeed.

How many times have you gone to bed and thought, “Tomorrow I am going to wake up and do an hours workout before work”, then woken up and snoozed for an hour instead of doing the workout? When a personal trainer is involved then you have committed and made an appointment so you will be more likely to jump out of bed do the workout and stick to your goals.

Personal trainers create a specific program just for you based on the goals you want to achieve. The personalised plan is tailored to your goals, needs, and allowances for your current physical condition and medical background.
